It boosts circulation to isolated muscles (great help for people in sedentary jobs as well as athlete’s) and breaks up myofascial adhesions (trigger points and knots). It also provides concentrated treatment to target muscle in less time as opposed to the amount of time an RMT spends hands on in an area. Which means it can be more effective and your RMT can use that time to work on other areas.
Your therapist will use a circular silicone cup to apply pressure to the areas needed. The procedure can leave a painless, circular mark which disappears in a few days, whereupon you can return for another treatment. Cupping can reduce pain, eliminate adhesions, promote lymph drainage, decrease scar tissue, and release tension.
Cupping cannot be used over broken skin or on those who are pregnant.
